Jamie and I are happy to announce the arrival of our little man. His name is Majerle Kingston Gonzales. His first name is pronounced Mar-Lee. We like to call him Mars. He is an adorable little blessing. Jamie and I couldn't be happier. He was born on September 4th 2010 at 6:41 am. He weighed 8 lbs and 12 oz and was 20 inches long. He was a big one. The pregnancy was so smooth and the delivery had some complications but I would do it again in heart beat. Jamie was an amazing partner and he made me feel so safe. I love him with all my heart and couldn't ask for a better husband. We look forward to the love, challenges, and fun that parenting this boy will bring!

Where have we been?

WOW! We have been out of the blogging zone for awhile.We have had a crazy year since our last post. So here is the last year in review for The Great Gonzos:

August 2009: Jamie's grandma passed away. We took a trip down to New Mexico for her viewing and funeral. It was the first time I met his extended family and it had been about 14 years since he had seen them as well.

September 2009: Our friends Nizel and Jonas got married.

October 2009: We went to Thriller a few times this year. We went with friends and then we also went to watch some of my dancers that were in the cast.

October 2009: Jamie celebrated his 27th birthday on Halloween. We held our annual birthday/halloween party. Dan, Bosch, Jamie and I were the Jabbawokeez.

November 2009: Jamie and I went to the So You Think You Can Dance Tour. We had a really good time. I enjoyed all the dancing.

November 2009: We watched the MLS Playoffs at the REAL stadium. It was very fun and the anticipation was killing us. They made it to the playoffs and won the championship!

December 2009: We celebrated JP'S birthday at the Canyon Inn. This was the same night I found out I was pregnant.

January 2010: Jamie and I went up to Sundance to get pictures with the Banksy artwork.

February 2010: The competition season for dance began. Every other weekend until May. It is a huge commitment.

March 2010: We found out we were having a ........BOY!!!!!

March 2010: I got my braces off..... finally. I also celebrated my 27th birthday on the 25th.

April 2010: Jamie and his best friend JP hosted a break dancing battle.

May 2010: The competiton season for the dance studio came to an end. We had our best year yet. I am very proud of all of our dancers.

June 2010: My dance studio had their year end performance and did fantastic!

June 2010: My sisters and Mom gave me an amazing baby shower.

July 2010: We have been supporting our REAL Salt Lake Soccer. We

have season tickets with a group of 10 friends. It has been tons of fun.

July 2010: We finished getting everything bought and set up for new arrival.

August 2010: Jamie did some modeling for LIFE Aveda Salon and Spa.

August 2010: We are due any day now with a baby boy. Jamie and I are so excited. We had some photos taken to remember this exciting time.

St. George and Vegas!

Jamie and I just returned from St. George and Vegas. We went down to St. George to watch "Footloose" at the Tuachan Theater. It was amazing. We loved it! We just relaxed and got couples massages. Then we spent a couple of days in Vegas. We just hung out at the fabulous Monte Carlo pool and casino. And of course hung out on the strip. We must have looked in love because some random guy on the strip yelled "get married" at us. It was so funny!!!! I love taking trips with Jamie. We had a great time!

5 Years and Counting....

Jamie and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on June 10th. Jamie has been such a great blessing in my life. I met him shortly after graduating. I wasn't looking for anything serious at that time. He is completely different then anyone I had ever dated. There were no games. Jamie said it best when he said, "I knew after a week you would be a serious girlfriend. And i knew after a month you would be my wife". We moved in to a tiny apartment together after only a few months. We didn't even have so much as a disagreement. It was meant to be. We lived together for 2 1/2 years before we were married. After our wedding day we haven't stopped going on dates, being silly, or really enjoying spending every minute together. He is my best friend. He is my other half. For those of you who say its cliche or not true... True love does exist and I live it everyday. If you don't have it, I hope you find it. And if you lost it, regain it because love really makes the world go round! I love you Jamie! I look forward to growing old with you. Jamie and I return from a wonderful trip to Las Vegas two weeks ago. It was a blast! We went down for the last competition for the studio. The first trip we took together was to Vegas. So we hold a special place for our vacations there. We stayed at the Monte Carlo. The pool was spectacular.

We went to see the Blue Man Group. I had so much fun. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do.
We went to the show, walked the strip and hung out with Brynn and Steve. (My besty from the studio and her husband)

Competition Season in Review

We finished our competition season for the dance studio. All around it was a great year. We have improved so much from last year to this year. I was pleased with how well my teams and solos did this year. I have some extra awards and dancers to tell you about....

*My tap team took a high point award at 2 competitions. They also received the highest Intermediate Team scores in the whole competition. WOW!

*My lyrical dance "True Colors" received a high point award as well.
*My jazz dance "Creeps" won an award for best technique. Yeah!

*One of my soloists took queen at every competition. That is at 6 competitions. Amazing! She is adorable and her name is Bayli Bostwick.

*One of my soloists named Markie Taylor had a wonderful season too. She queened several times and took high point for her division. She so deserves this. She is wonderful! She is taller than me and that trophy is taller than her. Nuts!

Silverline Showcase 2009

It's that time of year again... My drill team is having their end of the year showcase. This is a final performance for my team. They will be performing all of their dances from the entire year. My studio and the new team will be performing as well. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Let me know if your interested in coming. I will need the support. I am extremely sad this year is coming to an end. I have loved this team so much. I will miss my seniors like crazy!

National Champions!

My team returned from Anaheim, CA Nationals. My team took 1st in Military, as well as high point for the entire competition. We had a blast and returned as National Champions. Congrats to my team for all there hard work! Love you guys!

Something Is Missing...

So I rarely vent via a computer.... but I feel the need. I have just been super bummed lately. I am typically a person that has every inch of her life perfect. I try to not let life get the best of me. Been there and done that. I try to happy and upbeat. I just have been struggling lately. I have had a couple of things happen in my life as far as a couple of my jobs (I will not name the 2 out of the 3 which i have this problem with), an instance with my family, and a few crappy friendships. I just really never feel good enough for anyone. I take it back. I feel good enough for Jamie. He continues to be a solid rock in my life. He is amazing! I am not ready for kids, I am comfortable with my religion, and I just can't think of anything else that is missing. I just want to put a question out to this great void and say... What is missing?

Real Playoffs

Parent Performance

Last week my Drill girls had a performance for their parents. I invited my friends and family as well. The girls did a good job. We had some little problems that need to be fixed. This performance is to get ready for competitions. Which start in one week. AHHHHH! I'm so sick to my stomach. It is just so difficult being on the other side of this. You want them to do so well. I never was nervous as a dancer..... but I tell you as a coach, I am nearing panic attack waters. Wish me the best!

Jamie started playing indoor soccer this year. He is doing great! I am so proud of him. He plays every Friday night at an indoor soccer league in Murray. I think he is improving every week. The first week he played he got a kick to the shin and his shin guard cut him...... I would be okay with that being his only injury this season.

Jamie's Trip to L.A.

Jamie went to L.A. at the first of the month to watch Real play against the Chivas. Jamie and Bosch were able to fly down for the weekend to watch the game. They had a great time. They said the fans were crazy there. He was staying at the same hotel as the players, so he and Bosch had a couple of drinks with the team. What happens when you leave a bad dog out and put her owner in the shower. Hint: The dog is unsupervised. Answer: She gets into trouble. I was in the shower today and as I am getting out I hear a crumpling paper sound. I am thinking to myself "what is that noise". I call my dogs name, "Walter come here. Walter come here". And no dog comes. I am quickly trying to dry off to see what sort of trouble by dog has gotten into. As soon as I am out and dry, the noise stops. I turn the corner and find this....

Walter had gotten into the trash and found a bag of potatoe chips. She knew she was in trouble and put her head down. As mean as it is, I couldn't take off the bag until I took these photos. I was laughing so hard. Talk about being caught red handed. So moral of the story.... Walter will never get into a fight with a bag of potatoe chips again. The bag obviously won this battle!

Living The Dream!

I just got hired yesterday as Riverton High School's Drill Team Advisor. I am the assistant coach. I went and met the girls today. They are incredible dancers. I am so excited to work with such great talent. I love the girl's attitude as well. They are very cute girls. They are called the Silverline. I am extremely excited. I can't wait!

17.What do you remember most about graduation? It was crazy long! And ewwww I know but I kissed Ricky Martinez as we were walking out. We promised we would and I couldn't turn him down. I loved Ricky! I also remember Ricky's dad yelling "GO RICKY"! It was hillarious.

18. Where did you go senior skip day? I don't know. I skipped though.

19 Were you in any clubs? Drill team and FCCLA.

So I have always suffered from anxiety. For anyone who knows me well, you know I always had a little OCD. Everything has to be just so... and if it isn't I FREAK OUT. I alphabetize everything. I have to do all the cleaning for fear my husband won't do it just like I like it. And I also deep clean my house weekly. Yes even working two jobs, I have to scrub base boards, refold everything, and clean out my fridge. Well as time goes by I get more and more anxiety. I often find myself hanging up the phone and analyzing everything I just said. "You shouldn't have said this" or "You should have said that". I can't go to bed at night because I have to triple check I turned everything off or that I set my alarm. Which by the way I have two alarms for fear that one won't go off and I will over sleep and be late to something. Recently I have had panic attacks. Full blown chest tightening and I can't breathe. I really wonder if I am just too busy stressing or if it will just get worse as I get older. Any advice?

My Little Donut!

So my dog Phil is the one with the allergies. And while her itching has gotten better.... she has started a new habit. LICKING! She licks everything. And now she has sore spots on her tummy from licking it so much. So now we have to put a benedryl and neosporin type cream on her sores. Well as you may have guessed she licks it off. So our vet recommended a cone. Well now they have a new version that restricts them from licking or biting but doesn't impair their vision. And in comes the donut. Sad but cute. Phil is now my little donut.

The Magical 25

So this year's birthday was pretty good all around. I was lucky enough to receive many birthday wishes from friends and family. I had to work but the girls at work made my day lots of fun. I kept saying how this year was supposed to be good because I was turning 25 on the 25th. That is magical if you ask me. Here is a little summary of my "magical" birthday. On Friday my friends and I went to eat at The Bayou. Which by the way has my favorite food and drinks. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! We also went to Johnny's on 2nd... A local Salt Lake Bar. On my actual birthday the girls at work took me to lunch and I also received some beautiful flowers from my boss. I received very cute and funny cards. My sister Anjanette, as creative as she is, gave me a gorgeous set of dishes from my fav Pier 1. But.......My ultimate gift was the wonderful, amazing, my obsession The Cricut. Given to me by none other than the best husband ever. My great guy Jamie. Love you Jamie! Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone!

New Home :)

So as the previous blog told... We will be moving if we sell our condo first. We have but money down on a beautiful home in Riverton. It is a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath. It is a gated community, has vaulted ceilings, a two car garage, granite counter tops, a basement, and every room has a walk in closet. I am so excitied. It is bitter sweet. I am not getting my hopes up too much, because unless the condo sells the deal won't go through. But here is a first look at the new home!

Cougarettes In Concert

Jamie and I had such a fun time this weekend. We went to see the BYU Cougarettes in concert. It was fun. Although they weren't as clean as they normally are, they still did a great job. I love watching dance performances and better yet, I love watching amazing dance performances. It was a great concert!

Brace Face Chronicles Part:3

My only current complaint is the HUGE gap between my front teeth. Jamie is doing pretty well. Dental Convention

I love going to The UDA Convention. It is a convention where the dental community can go and hear lectures, buy merchandise, and the best part... GET FREE SAMPLES! I love getting stuff for free. Including cotton candy... okay why do they have cotton candy at a dental convention? I don't know but I like it. This year we had a pediatric dentist lecture and she was amazing. I get to learn and get paid. I love listening and hearing peoples point of views. This year was a blast. Here are some pics.

We had an excellent Valentines Day this year. Jamie and I are terrible at surprises. We always spoil Christmas, Birthdays, Anniversary gifts. I can't keep a secret after so long. And certainly not when I know how much he will enjoy it. But this year I did it! And apparently so did Jamie. So I am just working and I see this vase of flowers. Quietly I am thinking to myself....." How cute one of the assistants received flowers from their husband or boyfriend. I wish they were mine but Jamie never surprises me like that." And to my astonishment they were mine. He pulled it off. I was shocked! I love you babe... you made my day!

So You Think You Can Dance

I am so proud of Jamie. He went and auditioned for "So You Think You Can Dance" on Monday. He told me all about the grueling audition process. I was shocked at how brave he was to go and audition. I am just a big old chicken! Although he didn't make it we have several friends that did. Maybe we will know someone who makes it on TV this year. Who knows? Jamie said there were so many good dancers there. I can't wait for the new season to start. Jamie you may not be America's favorite dancer.... but you are MY favortie dancer. I love you. I have been friends with Julie and Ashley since 7th grade. I truly don't know if I have found friends that are so easy to get along with since them. I worked with Ashely for about two years at Maurices. Good times. We went through so much. Ash I really am thankful for all the troubled times you helped me through. Ash is one of those friends that not a word has to be said and we know what the other one is thinking. We always laugh at the same things even when nobody else is laughing. Julie... Where to begin. I have known Julie since the 1st grade. The truth is I always wanted to be her friend. She was good friends with my friend Erin but she went to a different school. So the first day in 7th grade there was a little intimidation there. But she is so friendly. We immediately became friends. We were on a little league cheer squad together. I always think of our memories on 9th grade Dance Co and all the boys we had drama with. She is always upbeat. I remeber when she made cheer and I didn't I was devistated but like a good friend she was so nice to help me feel okay about it. I really thank you Jules. One of my favorite memories of all three of us was one summer around 8th grade. We laid out at Julie's house pretty much all day and listened to "The Boy Is Mine". I guess that was until the gross construction workers next door were checking us out. I am so glad we can still get together and just as much fun. I love you guys!

Is It Humanly Possible To Be Allergic To Everything?

This question may be true for humans, but it is absolutely true for my dog. Phil has had allergies for her whole life. We just thought that they were seasonal and would eventually go away. Not the case. We have spent over a year trying to find out what she is allergic to. We have often been woken up to her frantically clawing at her face. It is so sad. She has been on a food diet, taken steroids, taken allergy pills, eye drops, lotions, ointments, and every mite test you can think of. We have paid over $2000.00 this past year on finding out what is wrong. So finally we get referred to a dog dermatologist. So after a sedation, allergy test and $1000.00 later... we find out she is allergic to everything. She isn't just kind of allergic... HIGHLY ALLERGIC. From everything to olives to feathers. Poor puppy. So we have to give her injections at home to help the itching. Hopefully this is the cure all. We have to pay $200.00 every six months to have them ship the medicine to our house form Arizona. And she will need this probably for the rest of her life. Who ever said kids are harder or more expensive then dogs.... you were wrong!

So I know I'm 24 and she is 14 but she seriously is the coolest. Allie is the funniest girl I know. Me and her have so many inside jokes. I am her tap and hip hop dance teacher. She also helps me with my Small Co. Choreography and Technique classes. She is the best. I can't stop laughing when I'm with her. Lucinda and Margret for life! Pickled Beets. Face Plant. Say no to crack. Sweeping up the crimes. Hahahaha! Love you Al!

So Christmas time was pretty chill this year. We did an angel tree. It was so much fun to shop for the little boy we had. It was very rewarding and we plan to do it every year. Here are some of the other parts of our Christmas season...

-We had our Christmas Dance Recital.

-We went to work parties.

-We spent time together.
-We woke up Christmas morning to the dogs cuddling with each other and us.

-Our dogs ate Christmas Breakfast. They got down.

-We went to Trevor's house on Christmas.

Brace Face Chronicles: Part 2

So the first week completely sucked. I really didn't remember braces being that bad. I was in terrible pain and the inside of my mouth looked like hamburger meat. Gross I know. Brushing turned out to be very difficult. I really miss running my tongue along my teeth. You know that great feeling after brushing... not quite the same. Eating was a nightmare. My bite has changed so I had to figure out how to use different pressure to eat a sandwich. Food is easily caught in my teeth and looks sick. But everything is getting better now. I can feel changes all ready. Can't wait for my new smile to be complete!

To Breathe Is To Dance

I have to write a blog about dance. So I teach an adult class on Wednesday nights and I love it. I really enjoy teaching but when I get to participate in class is the best. I love any type of dance to any type of music. I have some friends from my drill days that come pretty regularly. Katie, Becca, Brittany, and occaisonally some Jen. Chelsea came once to only be injured again. I am so sorry Chels! I really liked these girls in high school but I can now say I really love them now. I have learned so much about myself from them. Katie is always happy. She is positive and very upbeat. I am challanged by her optimism. Becca is thoughtful. She is always a great listener and I have truly been inspired by her open heart. She always gives everyone the benefit of the doubt and never judges. Brittany is strong and honest. She's never a downer even when she has had a bad day. I really look up to her. I am so glad that I have had an opportunity to get to know all of them again and for the first time really... We have all grown so much since high school. We had a photo shoot on Wednesday and here are some pictures. We will have to take more when Brittany and Jen can make it.

Brace Face

So since I work in the dental field I have many connections in the tooth business. An orthodontist that I think very highly of in his scope of practice has offerred to give our office braces for free. He feels if we have a great experience than we will refer friends and family to him. So my co-worker Jenna and I have decided to become brace-faced. I know some of you are thinking this is crazy. I am excited to go back to that akward stage of braces. This is Jenna and me.

My orthodontist growing up was terrible. After being a dental assisitant, now I know how terrible he was. So after several years of braces he told me that my teeth were as straight as they were ever going to be. He also told me that if I wanted to correct my jaw I would need reconstructive jaw surgery. This is an awful surgery that consists of them breaking your jaw and rebuilding it the way they want it to be. My face would be swollen and brusied. And to top it all off I would have my jaw wired shut and would have to drink liquids for a month. I know what your thinking... I thought that would be a great diet too. Just Kidding. My Mom didn't have enough money and probably didn't want to deal with the consequences of this surgery. I was already a very mean teenager and imagine a swollen, bruised and hungry one on top of that. So she opted not to get the surgery. I was really considering getting this done about a month ago. This was just something I have been told my whole life needed to be done. So when Dr Baugh told us about the braces, I jumped on the option of his opinion of my jaw.

After my consultation I was told I wouldn't have to get my jaw broken. I was thrilled! I just need about a year in braces. So on Decemeber 11th I am going in to get braces. I have decided to keep a blog of my teeth changing on a monthly basis. This will include pictures as well as notes on pain, growth, corrections, complaints, and any funny braces stories in between. I will be updating monthly. So look forward to the brace face chronicles coming soon.

Brace Face Chronicles Part One:
Complaints: I am getting braces because of the following reasons...
( This may be a little too much dental terminology, but here goes)

1. I have an end to end bite. Which means my top teeth sit right on top of my bottom teeth. The perfect bite has a slight overbite.

2. My midline is off. Which means the center of my upper jaw and the center of my lower jaw do match symmetrically to my face.

3. My second molars are drifting distally. Which means my back molars are starting to turn out.

4. I have a crossbite. Which means my teeth don't fit together in the grooves of the other teeth as they should.

I just want to take a second to let everyone know how in love I am. Jamie is so cute. We have been together since we were 19 and I don't think I have ever been really mad at him. He is so awesome. He has so much love in his heart. And not to mention he is probably the funniest person I know. I can't wait to see what the future brings! I love you Jamie.

Halloween

Since Jamie's birthday is on Halloween, we always end up doing such fun stuff this time of year. We went to Thriller twice, we played in the leaves with my nieces, we had a costume party, and went to dinner. Not in the same day of course. It was all in about a week. I love this time of year!

Can I first just say I seriously love our family. Our dogs are so precious. They are so well behaved. They are fun when you want them to be and snuggle when you need a buddy. With no kids yet... our dogs are our children. We love them to death. They are just too cute! I caught them sleeping in the laundry right after I took it out of the dryer. Adorable!
